Our team has been intensively engaged in aquaponics since years. Gerhard and Zechner completed an intensive education at the University of the Virgin Islands in 2008. They soon realized that aquaponics has the potential to contribute a significant part to solve world’s food problems.
But what in the Virgin Islands and Haiti is the solution, cannot be implemented to every other region of our planet. They saw, that individual solutions must be developed for each region. Nelson and Pade detected the same issues and had at this time already established plants in the cool area of Wisconsin. So Gerhard Zechner traveled to Wisconsin, where he made a training at Nelson and Pade, visited several commercially operated facilities and talked with the local aquaponics farmers.
Back in Austria, he told his two sons, Yaroslav and Gert, from his experiences overseas. Both were thrilled with the idea to build the first plant in Austria, which should be used subsequently for training purposes. After all these impressions, the decision was made:
“A system must be adapted to Austria and to our circumstances!”
Several planning and research cycles followed. Finally, in 2010 the greenhouse was built.
2011, the System was installed, modified and tested.
Since then, the system is being operated for research and training purposes.
Aquaponics – Systems
Our team designs and builds Aquaponics – Systems in a variety of sizes:
- The smallest system fits into the bookcase.
- Home equipment for the living room, balcony or conservatory.
- Small plants for your garden
- Commercial facilities from 1000 m2.
- Assembly Kits for Aquaponics systems will be available soon.
Come for a tour in our training facility. Our team awaits you and answer your questions.
